Privacy
A short, plain-English note on what this site does and doesn't do with your information.
This notice covers Growing Wise at growing-wise.com, including the free 5-minute activity at growing-wise.com/game.
growing-wise.com
This is a simple content site. There are no accounts to create and no forms here that ask for personal details.
When you click through to Amazon, Amazon's own privacy policy and cookies apply to that visit, not ours: we don't see or store anything about what you buy.
We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't identify individual visitors: we only see aggregate numbers, such as how many people visited a page in a week.
Visit statistics
To see which pages help parents and where people come from, the site also keeps its own simple visit statistics in a private spreadsheet that only Growing Wise's creator can see. For each page you view, it records the page, the site or app that sent you (for example Pinterest or Instagram), your country, whether you're on a phone or computer, how long you stayed and how far you scrolled.
It doesn't use cookies and never stores your IP address. Pages viewed in the same browser tab are grouped under a random code that is deleted when you close the tab, so one visit is never linked to the next. If you sign up for the weekly email, your signup is linked to that visit's code, so we can see which page or post you found us through. Statistics rows are deleted after 90 days.
When you join our email list, we let Pinterest know that a signup happened, so we can see whether our Pinterest posts and ads are working. We send a scrambled (hashed) version of your email address that can't be read back, your IP address and your browser type. We don't put Pinterest's cookies or tracking code on this site.
The Growing Wise activity
The activity doesn't ask you to create an account, and there's no consent checkbox to click through: you can start straight away.
While you're playing, nothing about your child's individual answers is sent anywhere. Each picture is answered and discussed on your own device only.
At the end, there's an optional feedback form: your child's age band, an optional country, three simple ratings (did they understand the pictures, did they enjoy it, would you play again), and an optional comment. This only sends if you choose to fill it in and press submit. If you do, it goes to a private spreadsheet that only Growing Wise's creator can see, and we use it only in aggregate to decide what to improve next: it isn't linked to your name, email or any account, though we'd ask you not to put anything identifying in the optional comment. There's currently no automatic deletion date on this spreadsheet; if you'd like an entry removed, get in touch with roughly when you submitted it and we'll delete it.
The activity also uses the same cookie-free Vercel Web Analytics described above, to see aggregate visit numbers.
Your rights, and getting in touch
If you'd like to ask a question, or ask us to delete feedback you submitted, please get in touch. We'll always tell you plainly what we do and don't hold.
