How to use it

Read it with a sing-song rhythm and let your child say "But where is the green sheep?" each time. Point to the sheep and name what each one is doing.

What it helps with

Comprehension and discussion questions

Pick two or three, not all of them. “I don’t know” is a fine answer, and you can always come back to it another day.

  1. “Which sheep did you like best?”
  2. “What colour was that sheep?”
  3. “What was the bath sheep doing?”
  4. “Where do you think the green sheep was hiding?”
  5. “Why was the green sheep so hard to find?”
  6. “What kind of sheep would you be?”

5-minute activities to try together

Colour hunt

Choose a colour and look around the room for three things that colour, just like the colourful sheep.

Make a sheep

Draw a sheep doing something silly, like a dancing sheep or a cake sheep, and give it a name.
