What age is it for? Mix It Up! is best for ages 3–6. Good for: An interactive book that teaches how colours mix.

Comprehension and discussion questions
Pick two or three, not all of them. “I don’t know” is a fine answer, and you can always come back to it another day.
- “What happened when you mixed blue and yellow?”
- “Which colour do you think red and white make?”
- “What was your favourite thing to do in the book?”
- “Did the book really change, or was it magic?”
- “What colour would you make next?”
- “What happens when you mix all the colours together?”
5-minute activities to try together
Paint mixing
Put two blobs of paint in a sandwich bag, seal it and squish them together to see what colour appears.
Colour fingerprints
Make fingerprints in two colours, then mix them with a fingertip to make a third.
